Mr. Perez oversees LSG personnel and contracts for LSG Southern Operations. He identifies potential business opportunities, submits proposals, presentations and networks with customers. He provides LSG Virginia with information on potential contracting, teaming and subcontracting opportunities for both the commercial and government sectors.
Prior to joining LSG, Mr. Perez worked for the U. S. Army Garrison as a Traffic Manager and a Contract Officer Representative, where he supervised the establishment and operations of the SOUTHCOM travel and shipping office. The office provided all the air and ground transportation, as well as freight and household goods shipping services for the Southern Command and outline units for 37 countries in the Caribbean, Central and South America with a budget of several million dollars a year.
Mr. Perez served in the United States Army and the United States Coast Guard from which he retired after 20 years. During his service he worked in the Personnel, Supply, Transportation and Intelligence fields, for which he received numerous awards for his achievements and leadership. In August 1993 while serving as an Intelligence Specialist, he received a Letter of Commendation from the U. S. Coast Guard Commandant crediting his supervision and leadership skills with a direct contribution to the seizure of several vessels, planes, drugs and the arrest of 125 people as part of the Coast Guard’s Drug Interdiction Effort (War on Drugs).
In addition to his business development endeavors Mr. Perez is an active member of the Americas Relief Foundation. The foundation coordinates the logistics necessary for disaster relief in Central, South America and the Caribbean. Mr. Perez acts as a liaison in between the foundation and the different government and nongovernmental organizations who utilize the foundation services.
