Before joining LSG in 2007, Mr. Torres served as the Director of Logistics (DOL) for the U.S. Army Garrison – Miami.  As DOL, he led a team of 30+ logistics professionals, providing Installation-level logistical support United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), Army Signal Activity (ASA), Special Operations Command-South (SOCSO) and other tenant units. He also provided logistical support to the Military Groups (MILGPS), throughout SOUTHCOM’s theater of operations.   Throughout his tenure as DOL, Mr. Torres delivered outstanding customer support to all assigned service members and their families, both active and reserve, as well as retirees and dependents.  He provided support in Supply and Services, Property Accountability, Transportation, Household Goods (inbound/outbound), Commercial Travel Office, ID Cards, CAC Cards, Passport and Visas, and military training and exercise support. In recognition of his leadership and management skills, Mr. Torres was assigned as Acting Deputy Garrison Manager from 2005 to 2006.  Mr. Torres was recognized for successfully managing and allocating manpower and financial resources to deliver outstanding customer service in this complex organizational support environment.

Mr. Torres served over 22 years Active Duty in the US Army, and 8 years in the US Army Reserve, retiring with the rank of Major. His last duty assignment was Executive Officer for Deputy Commander (M&RA), Southern Command, first in Panama and later in Miami, FL.  He is a Vietnam Veteran and earned a Bronze Star for his role in the Tet Offensive while serving as an infantryman with the 25th Infantry Division.

Mr. Torres holds a BS in Special Studies from St Francis College, Brooklyn, NY; an MA in Business Management from Central Michigan University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law.  He is also a Notary Public in the State of Florida, and a certified EEO counselor.
